Portions © International Organization for Standardization 1986: Permission to copy in any form is granted for use with conforming SGML systems and applications as defined in ISO 8879, provided this notice is included in all copies.

Relevant ISO entity set is given unless names are newly introduced. New names (i.e., not in ISO 8879 list) do not clash with any existing ISO 8879 entity names. ISO 10646 character numbers are given for each character, in hex. CDATA values are decimal conversions of the ISO 10646 values and refer to the document character set. Names are ISO 10646 names.

Web browsers should interpret most characters either by Name or by CDATA, but not all characters are supported by Name in all browsers. Symbols on this page are coded by Name in Column 2 and by CDATA in Column 3. A box (“[]”), question mark (“?”), or raw Name / CDATA code in either Column 2 or Column 3 means that your browser does not support the symbol using that method. Non-visible characters (such as spaces) are bracketed as follows: “]character[” to show width. For those browsers supporting @font-face CSS rules: Encoded characters (Columns 2 and 3) are displayed in Helvetica or Arial; other columns use the default page font (which does not necessarily support all ISO 8859-1 characters).
